Our library exists in both physical and virtual forms. There are approximately 5,500 books on subjects relevant to Heritage Polytechnic majors. Members of Heritage Polytechnic community additionally have access to over twenty online databases, which include more than 20,000 articles from standard journals in business, social sciences, humanities, sciences, engineering and technology. Lists of the current databases are issued at least once every semester.
LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS
When the polytechnic is in session the library shall operate as follows.
Monday – Friday: 8.00 am – 6.00 pm.
Saturday: - 8.00 am – 1.00 pm.
During vacation, it shall operate as follows:
Monday – Friday: 9.00 am – 5.00 pm.
Saturday: 9. 00 am. – 1.00pm.
The library is closed on Sundays and public holidays
The following groups of persons are eligible to register and enjoy the services of the library.
a) All bona fide students of Heritage Polytechnic
b) All members of staff of the Polytechnic.
REGISTRATION: Students and staff are expected to register with the library and obtain library tickets, which are valid for one academic year only but subject to renewal; library tickets are not transferable.
BORROWING OF BOOKS: A student is permitted to borrow a maximum of two books for a period of two weeks while members of staff are allowed to borrow three books within three weeks.
MISUSE OF LIBRARY FACILITIES: Every reader is expected to exercise reasonable care over the books borrowed on his / her ticket and the books should be returned on or before the last date stamped on it. Fines, which shall be subject to periodic review, shall be charged on books that are not returned on specified dates. A student or staff who misplaces or damages library books shall be made to pay an amount of money at the current selling price of the text and 50% service charge of that price.
